| 解釈〜 大事業は短期間では達成できないという意味。 着実に、気長に、忍耐強くあることを口説いていますが、仕事が遅れたときの口実などにもよく使われます。 類句には、フランス人が言い始めたと思われるパリ版があります。トロイはギリシャに10年間包囲された後にとうとう占領されてしまったようです。ギリシャの詩人ホメロス(Even Homer sometimes nodsのことわざでおなじみですね。)の残した叙事詩、Illiadに述べられています。 類句： Paris was not made in one day. パリは一日にして成らず Troy was not taken in a day. トロイは一日で占領されたのではない |
